From sidelined to back in the game after a double knee replacement.
I was only 49 years old when I found out that I was going to need double knee replacement surgery. I’m an active person, and my kids are into sports and many school activities, too. Oftentimes keeping up with my kids seems like a full-time job, but on top of that I have an actual full-time job that’s pretty physically demanding, too.
Getting back home and being able to step right back into my everyday life was top priority for me. I knew that I had a choice of where to recover after my surgery and I started planning for my recovery as soon as I knew I’d need surgery. I did my homework, toured five different facilities in the area and chose a LifeWorks Rehab Center.
As soon as I walked through the door I knew this was the place for me – they greeted me with a smile, and everyone was beyond warm and friendly. They went out of their way to answer all of my questions and make me feel at home.
Pre-registering for my recovery stay was one of the best moves I could have made —it made sure that everything was ready and waiting for me after my surgery. There were no surprises. I knew exactly what to expect and I could focus 100% on my recovery.
My LifeWorks Rehab therapists began working with me almost as soon as I arrived. They were determined to do everything in their power to make sure I got home as fast as I could, and that I’d be strong and healthy enough to get right back into my work and family life.
The LifeWorks Therapy was absolutely on-point. My therapists were incredibly knowledgeable. My recovery program was designed just for me, and I was able to feel myself getting stronger every day. There was never a second that I didn’t know that I would be getting back home fast, and the LifeWorks Rehab therapists kept me motivated and working hard.
I was able to return home after only 21 days, and four months later I’m almost 100% recovered. I would recommend LifeWorks Rehab to anyone — the care I received was absolutely phenomenal.
